This is your chance to learn graminoids from Dr. Charles M. Allen (author of Grasses of Louisiana, 3rd Edition). You will learn to recognize the grass, sedge, and rush families and many species and genera of graminoids. Big blue stem, little bluestem, slender bluestem, switchgrass, Indian grass, flat sedge, beak rush, and several rushes will be seen. Tables full of labeled plants will also be spread out for you to look at, photograph, learn the best recognizing features, etc. There will also be plant samples that you may take with you. You will be exposed to more than 100 species of graminoids. All are welcome including children. Pre-registration requested.
The schedule:
| 8 AM | Begin walking tour. Will see 30 or more graminoids. |
| 9 AM | Inside presentation of graminoids with labeled plants. Expect to see more than 100 different species of graminoids. |
| 12 Noon | Test Time: check your graminoid id skills. Ask questions etc. Also inside. |
| 12:30 PM | (Optional) Susan's Chinese food (Donations accepted) |
